“After using WPCS for just a few minutes I immediately realized how powerful but yet beautifully simple they’ve made the entire Multi Tenancy process, a process that’s never quite been known as such.
Multi Tenancy has long been known to be the ultimate solution to the limitations of WordPress Multisite, as well as the true enablement of WaaS and SaaS on WordPress.”
“WPCS is just a great service. From now on, managing hunderds of WordPress sites is a breeze. With just a few clicks all of them are updated or provided with a new feature/plugin.
No more stress to break things. Simply start a new environment (tenant) to see results before deploying to all production websites.”
The day the pandemic reached the Netherlands in March 2020, our lives changed. Our dreams of launching a startup providing B2C services for the hotel industry vanished as the government enforced a nationwide isolation period. Overnight, our value proposition became obsolete. We were left reeling, our once-thriving online marketing agency now teetering on the brink of collapse.
Two weeks into isolation, as we struggled to regain our footing, I received a call from Wijnand, one of my co-founders and our CTO. He had an epiphany—a bold vision to save our business by pivoting back to our roots: creating websites.
Previously, we had built WordPress websites for clients at a steep discount, using this as a springboard to upsell our marketing services. Wijnand’s ambitious plan was to devise a revolutionary system that could multiply and manage websites on an infinite scale.
As the gears turned in our minds, we found inspiration in the multi-tenant cloud infrastructure of successful SaaS companies and Kubernetes, the most modern cloud containerized orchestration infrastructure. We set out to unite these powerful concepts with WordPress, transforming the landscape of web development.
Harnessing the potential of multi-tenant WordPress, we could apply proven SaaS scaling methods to web development, revolutionizing the way WaaS and WordPress-based SaaS offerings were managed. WaaS providers would no longer be shackled by the limitations of WordPress Multisite, freeing them to offer websites to customers as a seamlessly managed service.
We embarked on an journey to switch from a project-based business model to a product-based one. Embracing scalability and standardization, we sought to avoid scope creep, reduce operational costs, and create synergy both internally and externally.
With our newfound focus, we were unstoppable. We leveraged multi-tenant WordPress to build a platform to build low-code SaaS with WordPress, tapping into the vast WordPress ecosystem with over 54,000 plugins at our disposal. Investors took notice of our platform, and before we knew it, we had raised nearly $1M from VCs and household names such as Porsche, Yoast, and Axel Springer.
Right from the start, we launched our game-changing WordPress multi-tenant cloud platform worldwide. Rising from the ashes of our thwarted startup, we had reinvented ourselves, forever altering the landscape of web development and emerging stronger and more resilient than ever before.
In our consultation call, we’ll carefully review your existing hosting plan, resource usage, and specific requirements to ensure we understand your unique needs.
We’ll present a tailored resource plan that aligns with your current setup, ensuring you get the same resources or better on multi-tenant infrastructure.
After migrating to our platform, we’ll closely monitor your application’s resource consumption reducing your hosting expenses even more.
A serverless cloud solution is a cloud computing architecture that enables users to run applications and services without managing the underlying infrastructure. The cloud provider takes care of the infrastructure, scaling resources up or down as needed to accommodate the application’s demands.
Since multi-tenant WordPress is based on the same core software as regular WordPress, it supports the same features and functionality, including a wide range of themes, plugins, and integrations. You can use the WordPress ecosystem to its full advantage when building your application on WPCS.
Using WPCS’s serverless cloud solution offers several advantages:
In a multi-tenant environment, each product version you create includes the plugins and themes installed for all tenants. To update plugins or themes, create a new version of your product, perform the necessary updates, and then migrate tenants to the updated version. This process ensures that all tenants have access to the latest features and improvements, streamlining updates in a user-friendly manner.
Multi-tenancy is an architectural approach where a single instance of a software application serves multiple customers, called tenants. Each tenant’s data is isolated and remains invisible to other tenants. In the context of WPCS, multi-tenancy allows you to manage an infinite number of independent WordPress installs from a central environment.
WPCS manages the underlying infrastructure and scales resources to meet your application’s demands. We use Kubernetes to deploy and manage containerized applications on our infrastructure, allowing you to focus on developing and running your applications without worrying about infrastructure management.
WPCS supports a wide range of applications, including web applications, WaaS and SaaS applications, and more. Visit our case studies page to learn about various use cases or contact us to determine if your application is compatible with our platform.
